Judge Strikes Down Defense of Marriage Act
In a July 9 ruling, Federal District Court Judge Joseph Tauro struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), ruling that DOMA discriminates against gays and lesbians and infringes on the rights of states to define marriage.
This judge's ruling could impact marriage nationwide, and is an outrageous powergrab from a federal court.
Kelly Shackelford, Liberty Institute's President/CEO, said about this ruling, "No judge should be able to force his new definition of marriage on every state and the whole country. It's the height of arrogance, and we'll fight it."
Help join the fight, by emailing your elected officials and asking them to protect traditional marriage.
